The Value of Relationship
Relationships are at the center of everything that happens at Stuarts Draft Retirement Community and the Village at Mint Spring. Relationships with God, family, and community keep humans thriving physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually at any age. The Brennemans always knew that their love for the Lord and for other people would be the catalyst to what they did with their lives, and as each iteration of their family business grows, it’s clear to see that the value of relationship has only strengthened.
At both Stuarts Draft Retirement Community and The Village at Mint Spring, the “reason” is always getting more quality time with those you love. We believe moving into a community that supports your relationships with your family and nurtures new relationships with friends, is integral when you’ve decided to downsize or seek assisted living.
At The Village at Mint Spring, the hope is that by our handling all the details, elderly parents will be given spend precious time with their adult children, and grandparents the ability to soak up priceless time with their grandchildren. When describing his vision for the new community, David Brenneman emphasizes the importance of that quality time. “There will be space and opportunity for families to be together.” The developing phases of VAMS will include green space for outdoor gatherings, a bakery on campus, and a coffee shop, and the residences will even include third-bedroom options for visiting family and grandchildren coming by for sleepovers. The community will be bursting with folks of all ages visiting, playing, and loving each other well.
David’s hopes for the community come from a deep-seated commitment to the kind of relationships he garnered as a kid growing up in Stuarts Draft Retirement Community. “I felt like I had 100 grandparents.” He reminisces. “My sister and I were raised with a very hands-on approach in the community.” And that’s exactly the kind of childhood he wants for his own four children. “Heavy family inclusion is important.” That’s why you’ll find the younger Brennemans spending a lot of time on campus at both SDRC and VAMS. After all, David’s grandparents were the first residents of Stuarts Draft Retirement Community and his parents were some of the first to sign a lease at The Village at Mint Spring. This is where his own family is thriving, and the goal is for all the other families in the community to thrive there too.
